LEBAK – Situ Cilembun in the Lebak Regency, Banten, overflowed due to heavy rainfall. As a result, floods inundated around 262 houses in the Cibadak and Warunggunung Districts in the early hours of Friday (4/19/2024).
The acting Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lebak Regency, Febby Rizky Pratama, stated that the flooding affected hundreds of houses in the two districts.
“At least around 262 houses were affected by the flood in the Cibadak and Warunggunung Districts. The details are 27 houses in Cimenteng Jaya Village, 150 houses in Cisangu Village, and 49 houses in Pasar Keong Village, Cibadak District, while in Warunggunung District, it includes 20 houses in Banjarsari Village and 16 houses in Cempaka Village,” Febby said when contacted on Friday (4/19/2024).
He revealed that the overflowing of Situ Cilembun was allegedly due to rainfall not only in Lebak but also from Pandeglang Regency. This is because Situ Cilembun is integrated with Pandeglang.
“Some of the partially submerged houses have receded, but until this morning there are still some houses submerged, especially in Cisangsu Village. There were no casualties, and currently the BPBD of Lebak Regency is still conducting data collection of houses affected by the flood,” he said.
He urged residents to remain vigilant of other potential disasters. Extreme weather is still occurring in the Lebak region.
“We continue to urge the community to always be aware of the potential disasters caused by extreme weather,” he said. (San/Red).
