Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, who is also the president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the Nusantara Building, DPR/MPR complex, on Tuesday (October 1).
Prabowo and Jokowi arrived together in the presidential car with the license plate RI 1. Jokowi got out from the left side of the vehicle, while Prabowo exited from the right.
Before attending the DPR event, both leaders had participated in the Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony at the Pancasila Monument in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.
Dressed in matching formal attire, Jokowi wore a navy blue suit with a red tie, while Prabowo wore a black suit with a gray tie featuring white stripes. Both also wore black peci caps and a red-and-white flag pin on the left side of their chest.
Upon arrival, Jokowi and Prabowo were greeted by DPR Secretary-General Indra Iskandar, exchanging handshakes, smiles, and greetings.
The two leaders then proceeded together into the Kura-Kura Building after taking a group photo with General Election Commission (KPU) Chair Afifuddin and several newly elected DPR, Regional Representative Council (DPD), and People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) members.
