Speaking during a video conference on renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s capacity to produce energy efficiently and reduce expensive logistics chains.

He highlighted the importance of energy independence in Indonesia’s vision for national sovereignty, unveiling the government’s plan to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to deliver clean, dependable, and effective energy throughout the archipelago.

President Prabowo praised the collaborative efforts of government ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil for backing Indonesia’s energy transition. While recognizing the country’s substantial oil and gas reserves, he underscored the necessity of renewable energy, notably solar power, in ensuring energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.

Prabowo expressed hope for Indonesia’s future, pointing to solar energy as a source of optimism for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By tapping into renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way towards a more sustainable and brighter future.
