Prabowo Subianto’s excerpt from “National Transformation Strategy: Towards Golden Indonesia 2045” emphasizes the importance of focusing on 17 key performance targets to achieve the vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045. These targets are crucial as they represent foundational stepping stones for becoming a developed and prosperous nation. The targets cover a wide range of issues, from achieving self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water to eradicating poverty, combating drug abuse, and ensuring universal healthcare access.
One of the priority targets is achieving self-sufficiency in food, energy, and water. Initiatives include developing food estate programs and promoting the cultivation of bio-diesel and aviation biofuel. The government aims to increase crop harvest areas and implement biodiesel and ethanol programs by 2029 to ensure energy self-sufficiency. Water sufficiency will also be a focus, with proper water management to prevent disasters.
Another important target is refining the national revenue system. The government plans to enhance the capabilities of the national revenue agency and reform tax policies to increase domestic revenue collection. Establishing a National Revenue Agency is expected to raise the national revenue-to-GDP ratio to 23%.
Eradicating poverty is also a critical target, with a goal to eliminate extreme poverty within the first two years of governance and reduce relative poverty to 5% by 2029. The government aims to combat drug abuse, ensure universal healthcare access, enhance education, science and technology, and digitalization, preserve cultural arts, boost the creative economy, and strengthen gender equality.
Other targets include strengthening national defense and security, ensuring environmental conservation, providing access to fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides for farmers, constructing quality affordable housing, and promoting economic equity through business credit programs. These targets are aimed at creating a stable, secure, and prosperous future for Indonesia by 2045.
