Cadets from the Royal Military College-Duntroon (RMC-D) in Australia recently visited the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Indonesia, where they expressed their admiration for the discipline and hard work shown by the Indonesian cadets. The Australian cadets, including Maxwell Jon Kiernan and Lola Kathleen May Charles, were part of a visit led by Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, who signed an enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement with Indonesia’s Defense Minister, Prabowo Subianto.

Maxwell Jon Kiernan highlighted the strong work ethic and discipline of the Indonesian cadets at Akmil, while Lola Kathleen May Charles was inspired by their dedication to training and studies. Captain Damon Radford, an exchange officer accompanying the Australian cadets, mentioned that they participated in various activities at Akmil, such as mentoring sessions, English classes, and visits to cultural landmarks like Borobudur and Prambanan temples.

The visit was part of the Foreign Academy Exchange Program (FAEP), aimed at fostering cooperation between Australia and Indonesia. The program will continue with Indonesian cadets visiting Australia from October 10-21. Radford emphasized the importance of such exchanges in enhancing skills and cooperation between the two countries.
