A moment of camaraderie was captured among President Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, and Defense Minister, who is also the President-elect, Prabowo Subianto, during the Officer Oath Ceremony (Praspa) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7).
Throughout the event, the three leaders were seen together, walking in tandem from the beginning of the ceremony to the photo session. They engaged in conversations with smiles, showcasing a harmonious relationship.
The ceremony saw the inauguration of 906 cadet officers (Capaja) as officers of the TNI and Polri. This included cadets from the Military Academy (Akmil), Naval Academy (AAL), Air Force Academy (AAU), and Police Academy (Akpol).
Jokowi, the ceremony commander, announced the start of the Officer Oath Ceremony, to which Jokowi responded, “Proceed.”
During the ceremony, Jokowi emphasized the importance of the newly commissioned officers fulfilling their duties to the nation and state to the best of their abilities. He stated, “I will fulfill my duties as an officer to the best of my abilities to the Indonesian nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, which is founded on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.”
