Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) made historical strides on Monday morning in Paris, leading France’s prestigious Bastille Day military parade along the iconic Champs-Élysées. This marked the first time TNI troops were honored as the lead contingent in the annual military procession, celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Indonesia and France. A total of 260 TNI soldiers, accompanied by 189 members of the combined military marching band, delivered a precise, spirited, and vibrant performance in ceremonial uniforms adorned with symbolic helmets. This drew enthusiastic applause from spectators, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah. International media outlets, such as BFMTV and TV5 Monde, highlighted Indonesia’s honored role, while print and digital platforms like Ouest France and L’Union published features on the vibrant Indonesian drumline. Indonesia’s participation as guest of honor, with over 450 troops, was seen as a symbol of deepening strategic partnership between the two nations within the Indo-Pacific framework. This recognition of Indonesia’s growing international presence was acknowledged by a representative from the Indonesian delegation.
