President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, shared a memorable experience during an official visit of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He recalled the moment when he was honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru, the highest national recognition bestowed by the Peruvian government, on November 14, 2024. This prestigious award signifies the strong diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Peru since 1975.
In return, Prabowo presented President Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest honor, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, in appreciation of her significant contributions to enhancing bilateral friendship and cooperation. He expressed his hopes for continued growth in the partnership between the two nations in the future. Additionally, Indonesia and Peru signed cooperation agreements covering various sectors such as narcotics eradication, combating illicit trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense.
The exchange of honors and the signing of cooperation agreements highlight the commitment of both countries to strengthen their relationship and foster mutual development.
