SERANG – Muhit (52) and his son, residents of Desa Kemanisan, Tirtayasa District, Serang Regency, were victims of a group assault. The perpetrators were their neighbors.
Serang Police Chief AKBP Condro Sasongko stated that the assault occurred on Wednesday (10/4/2024). Before the assault, the victim Muhit was participating in a religious gathering at a neighbor’s house.
“Prior to the incident, the victim was participating in a religious gathering with other residents. Upon hearing that his son was involved in a scuffle, the victim and his grandson immediately rushed to the location,” said the Police Chief, accompanied by AKP Andi Kurniady ES, to Poskota on Tuesday (15/4/2024).
Upon arrival at the scene, the victim saw his son being beaten up by 2 perpetrators with the initials HA and AL, and managed to intervene. After the intervention, the two attackers left,” the Police Chief said.
However, shortly after, Ha and AL returned, this time accompanied by several friends, including the suspect RF. Upon meeting the victim, the perpetrators immediately launched another assault, even the victim’s grandson named Nurman was not spared from the violence.
“The victim suffered facial injuries from being beaten and hit with a stone, then reported the incident to the Serang Police Station,” he said.
Armed with the report and the results of the medical examination, the Mobile Brigade Team, led by Ipda Supendi and Bripka Sutrisno, immediately pursued the perpetrators. However, when the team visited the perpetrator’s house, the attackers were not there.
“During the holiday season, the Mobile Brigade Team received information that one of the suspects was at home, and immediately moved in and successfully arrested RF,” he added.
The Police Chief stated that based on RF’s confession, the Mobile Brigade Team has identified other perpetrators and is working on apprehending them. He urged the remaining suspects to surrender themselves before facing decisive action from the Mobile Brigade Team.
